BACKGROUND The Annual Meetings of the International Monetary Fund (IMF) and the Boards of Governors of the World Bank Group (WBG) bring together central bankers, ministers of finance and development, private sector executives, representatives from civil society organizations and academics to discuss issues of global concern, including the world economic outlook, poverty eradication, economic development, and aid effectiveness.

The Group of Thirty (G30) is an international body of leading financiers and academics which aims to deepen understanding of economic and financial issues to examine consequences of decisions made in the public and private sectors related to these issues. The Group is characterized by its knowledge of the past and broad-minded, forward thinking.
